This evening we had a course about Blogging as a part of the 23 things concept. Before we started we had a very nice and “yummy” dinner made by colleagues. To be honest i was completely stuffed from all the nice things that were presented. During our session, and for some first encounters with Blogging, we had a lot of laughs about the content and what should actually be put on the Blogs.
While the course instructor was explaining i allready had made up my mind about my content which would be mostly about my fun hobby: Photoshop designs. The course instructor mentioned at one point the “learn by doing” concept which totally applies to me. As shown in my artwork I learn new techniques and things through doing things. Ofcourse some textual help or slight instructions are needed but most is learned through practice. I guess the old saying “Practice makes Pefect” is ideal here.
You’re probably wondering why I am writing my Blog in english. Well, to be fair I do this so my swedish girlfriend and her family can actually read my blog aswell and this way know what things i learn during these courses. I’ve never had a blog before but have used tools like Facebook (still using), Youtube (ofcourse :P ), Photobucket (where i put my deisgns online), RSS feeds, Vimeo (yay for online movie watching) and many more.
Apart from these tools I also like to discover new things like recently I found a little software program that keeps connected to your Bluetooth on e.g. your cellphone and locks your desktop when the Bluetooth signal of your cellphone is out of range. This is ideal if you go to a meeting in a hurry and dont want anyone to use your workstation. It can also be configured so you can send a one-word sms to your computer so it understands what to do, like “shutdown” or “restart”.
Anyway, blogs should be short and not a wall of text like i am typing now so see you again on the next update of this freshly made blog. Probably with some more designer updates or updates on the course or nifty new gadgets. Until then!
P.s. Today I’ll be experimenting with smoke brushes and Gradient tool. I am going to try to make the smoke fade out a bit.
